What is Amplify?

Amplify is Thousand Hills' 3 year grow campaign. We hoped to raise $1.5 million by December 2022 so that we could make our ministry louder in the Lake Cities. In December 2020, Thousand Hills Church purchased the AMC Movie Theater in Hickory Creek. With the money being raised, we began renovating the theater in Fall of 2021, and on August 7, 2022, we had our first service in the building! This facility is larger than our old location and is a blessing to not only our church family but to the Lake Cities community as well.  Ultimately, this building is a place where people can gain relationship with Jesus and build Godly, life-giving relationships.
Giving for Amplify began November of 2019.

October 2019 marks 20 years in the life of Thousand Hills Church. Wow! What a great achievement! For the past 6 years, Janet and I have had the privilege of serving as your pastors have had a front row seat watching this beautiful community of faith grow and continue to impact the community.

In the current climate of uncertainty, divisiveness and anxiety, people are looking. They are looking for hope and peace. They are looking for someone who will never let them down. They are looking for a place that will call out the best in them, a place that will take the brokenness of the human soul and restore it. We believe that place should be the Church. The Church is truly the hope of the world. This hope comes alive when people focus on Jesus Christ and live in the power of the Holy Spirit!

The next 20 years are before us, and the mission to make disciples has not changed. The harvest of souls is ripe, and our call to reach them with the gospel is more urgent than ever before. Now is the time! Will you stand with us as we move into our destiny to reach this community with the Love of Jesus?  Will you join us in the effort to make a difference in the Lake Cities and around the world? Will you stand with us as we amplify our voices?

Let’s make this next season of our church the best yet. We have much to do and God is calling us to be his people. Let’s keep going! Let’s make it happen! Let’s amp it up as we Love God, Love People and Change the World!

"My journey started when I walked through those doors 14 years ago, and it changed my life forever!"

"As a family, we have been faithful givers to the Lord, and He has always provided for us. Our God is truly faithful."

"Thousand Hills changed our lives, God healed our hearts."

RENDERINGS OF our new location

Our old facility was not equipped to handle what we believe God wants us to do. Every Sunday, we were facing space issues: kid’s areas were filling quickly, parking was a challenge, and there was not much room to hang out and talk. All good problems to have had because it meant people’s lives were being changed. For years, we had been praying and planning for what our next steps would look like. The pictures you see are renderings of our new building, formerly the AMC Movie Theater of Hickory Creek. Our new facility is open, and this is only the beginning of what we believe God will do.

What 'S IN THE NEW BUILDING?

Statistics say that 80% of people that decide to follow Jesus, do so before the age of 18. So, we made sure to have an amazing, fun, colorful space to minister to our children.
Community is a vital part of Christian living. The new building has an actual lobby and spaces to hang out and grow together.
A place for every vehicle and room to spare.
Our new sanctuary doubled our capacity and is a multi-purpose space. Plus, it still has that great family feeling we've always enjoyed.

Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Church Planting Is In Our DNA

In 1999, our church began as a church plant, meaning it started because God asked us to start something new – to plant a seed of His love in Corinth, TX. That heart to follow God’s leadership led us to planting another church in South Denton. In 2005, Lifeline Church was founded with Pastor Jerry and Karyn Reagan. Lifeline met in several elementary schools before purchasing their current facility in 2016. In 2010, the Lord began stirring the hearts of some of our original church planting team, Pastor Shawn and Brandee Webb. They launched the Foundry Church in Garland, TX in March of 2011, and in March of 2020, they finished their renovation of an old fire station in downtown Garland. Under their leadership, the Lord is doing a great work in Garland. They are reaching the lost and seeing lives dramatically transformed. Out of The Foundry, Thousand Hills had its first grandchild, BridgePoint Church-Wylie – WooHoo! Foundry helped plant another church in 2018, when it helped start North Dallas Assembly.

In 2015, Thousand Hills once again had the opportunity to help plant another church in Cross Roads, TX. Trilogy Community Church, led by Pastor Jeff Kossack, is a thriving church in North Texas. We love planting churches, and we look forward to planting more churches in the future.

FAQ

Why dID we need a new building?

Children’s rooms were often at capacity, parking was regularly overflowing and there was minimal indoor conversation space to build community without a lobby. Even our weekday pre-school was having to turn away potential students. We had expanded to three weekend services on Sundays, but were still feeling the squeeze.

What DOES the neW BuiLdinG have that oLD BUILDING DIDN'T?

Our focus in the new building is community. The new facility is approximately 57,000 square feet; 6.7 times the old facility. Highlights include: a sanctuary that is double the size and 6 times more parking spaces. There is a state-of-the-art safe and secure children’s wing, and each classroom has their own kid-friendly bathrooms. There's a new lobby that is much larger, and it doubles as a fellowship hall.

hoW LonG DID the GroW CamPaiGn LaSt?

3 years, and we are almost complete. The commitment pledges run from November 2019 – November 2022.

What kind oF Commitment CAN I MAKE NOW THAT THE BUILDING IS FINISHED?

While our Amplify campaign is almost over, it isn't too late to partner with us in getting the Gospel louder in our community. You can still give and continue to expand Thousand Hills' mission. We are not asking for a set amount. Each person has different income capacity. It’s about equal sacrifice, not equal giving. Ultimately, we want you to ask God how He would have you give and be obedient.

DID WE reduCe SPendinG in miniStry to BuiLd the neW FaCiLity?

No. We did not plan to reduce our investment in ministry, and our church family did not shift their giving from support of our ministries to the new building project. Through faith and consistency, our church gave to the Amplify Campaign above and beyond their regular giving, and God has been faithful through it all.

When dID WE Break Ground?

Construction began November of 2021, and we opened our new facility on August 7, 2022.
