What is Amplify?

Amplify is Thousand Hills' 3 year grow campaign. We hope to raise $1.5 million by November 2022 so that we can make our ministry louder in the Lake Cities. With the money we will raise, we are going to build a new facility that will bless our church family and local community.  Ultimately, this new building will be a place where people can gain relationship with Jesus and build Godly, life-giving relationships. Giving for Amplify began November of 2019.

October 2019 marks 20 years in the life of Thousand Hills Church. Wow! What a great achievement! For the past 6 years, Janet and I have had the privilege of serving as your pastors have had a front row seat watching this beautiful community of faith grow and continue to impact the community.

In the current climate of uncertainty, divisiveness and anxiety, people are looking. They are looking for hope and peace. They are looking for someone who will never let them down. They are looking for a place that will call out the best in them, a place that will take the brokenness of the human soul and restore it. We believe that place should be the Church. The Church is truly the hope of the world. This hope comes alive when people focus on Jesus Christ and live in the power of the Holy Spirit!

The next 20 years are before us, and the mission to make disciples has not changed. The harvest of souls is ripe, and our call to reach them with the gospel is more urgent than ever before. Now is the time! Will you stand with us as we move into our destiny to reach this community with the Love of Jesus?  Will you join us in the effort to make a difference in the Lake Cities and around the world? Will you stand with us as we amplify our voices?

Let’s make this next season of our church the best yet. We have much to do and God is calling us to be his people. Let’s keep going! Let’s make it happen! Let’s amp it up as we Love God, Love People and Change the World!

For the Kingdom,

Pastor Ben and Janet

October 2020 will mark 21 years in the life of Thousand Hills Church. Wow! What a great achievement! For the past 7 years, Janet and I have had the privilege of serving as your pastors. SNEAK PEAK

Our current facility is not equipped to handle what we believe God wants us to do. Each Sunday, we are facing space issues: kid’s areas are filling quickly, parking can be a challenge, and there’s just not much room to hang out and talk. All good problems to have because it means people’s lives are being changed, and they are joining the church, BUT… we can’t do this forever. For years, we’ve been praying and planning for what our next step might look like. Do we build on our current property, or look to move somewhere else? While both have pros and cons, our desire has been to follow God’s leading and plan.

What will a new building have?

Statistics say that 80% of people that decide to follow Jesus, do so before the age of 18. We want to make sure we have an amazing, fun, colorful space to minister to our children.
Community is a vital part of Christian living. The new building will have an actual lobby, some cool outdoor spaces and opportunities to hang out will be available.
A place for every vehicle and room to spare.
Our new sanctuary will double our capacity and a be a multi-purpose space but will still have the great family feeling we currently enjoy.

Matthew 28:19-20 NIV

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Church Planting Is In Our DNA

In 1999, our church began as a church plant, meaning it started because God asked us to start something new – to plant a seed of His love in Corinth, TX. That heart to follow God’s leadership led us to planting another church in South Denton. In 2005, Lifeline Church was founded with Pastor Jerry and Karyn Reagan. Lifeline met in several elementary schools before purchasing their current facility in 2016. In 2010, the Lord began stirring the hearts of some of our original church planting team, Pastor Shawn and Brandee Webb.  They launched the Foundry Church in Garland, TX in March of 2011. Under their leadership, the Lord is doing a great work in Garland. They are reaching the lost and seeing lives dramatically transformed. They are currently renovating an old fire station in downtown Garland, planning to open Spring 2020. Thousand Hills had its first grandchild when The Foundry Church planted the BridgePoint Church-Wylie – WooHoo! Foundry helped plant another church in 2018, when it helped start North Dallas Assembly.
In 2015, Thousand Hills once again had the opportunity to help plant another church in Cross Roads, TX. Trilogy Community Church, led by Pastor Jeff Kossack, is a thriving church in North Texas.

FAQ

Why do we need a new building?

Children’s rooms are often at capacity, parking regularly overflows and there is minimal indoor conversation space to build community without a lobby. Even our weekday pre-school is having to turn away potential students. We have expanded to three weekend services on Sundays, but are still feeling the squeeze.

What WiLL the neW BuiLdinG have that our Current one doeSn’t?

Our focus in the new building will be about community. The new facility will be approximately 50,000 square feet; 5 times the current facility. Highlights will include: doubling the size of the sanctuary and 6 times more parking spaces. There will be a state-of-the-art safe and secure children’s wing, and each classroom will have their own kid-friendly bathrooms. There will be plenty of usable outdoor community space, and the new lobby will be much larger and double as a fellowship hall. We are excited to share more details of the new building as we continue to move forward in the design process.
